Do I need a digital SLR camera?

It is recommended.  A portion of the workshop will be showing you how to shoot with an SLR.  We will also be covering lighting, composition, the making of a great photograph and getting the best out of your subject.  This applies to all photography no matter what you are using to take that photograph.  There are some very good point and shoot cameras available these days, but I won't have the time during the workshop to discuss individual functionality of each point-and-shoot.  Equipment information will relate to SLR functionality.

Do I need to know how to use my digital SLR?

No -- that's what I'm here for!  If you haven't taken your camera off Auto since you bought it, that will all change by the end of the workshop.  I will show you how to balance ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed to create beautiful portraits.

What lens do I need?

Whichever lens is on your camera most of the time.  You only need one lens on the day of the workshop, although bring all that you have.  The workshop includes information on lenses.

Will you be covering film photography?

No.

Do we receive a digital workbook?

Yes.

What do I need to bring to the workshop?

Your camera (with a charged battery and empty card) and a notebook.

How much is the workshop?

The workshop cost is $280 (includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch and digital workbook).
